These were email-only test campaigns, highly targeted, based on Sony's own data about their existing customers. Offers were closely matched to consumer needs and interests, such as a camera bag offer to registered owners of Handycam® Camcorders. Response rates were quite strong, helping to demonstrate both the value of their in-house data and the effectiveness of email as a marketing channel within their existing customer base.
